I have some very exciting news! I'm being recruited to put together a television program sharing some of the more positive aspects of Humboldt County. "Indepth Perspectives" will show a deeper look into the perceptions of each community we visit, discovering the positives and supporting local business in the process. Our first season features Humboldt County, and how cannabis legalization represents a major socio-economic shift in the world.
My personal belief is that the small town values I grew up with here in Humboldt County, such as environmentalism and accepting people for who they are, are truly important and synonymous with the counter culture revolution that helped spark Northern California's cannabis industry. As legalization became a thing, literally everything began to change rapidly and the fact is that cannabis is enjoyed by people from all walks of life.
No matter how people may feel about Humboldt County, there is plenty here that you just don't find in the rest of California. It's not for everybody, some don't like living so remote while others prefer it. Some see change as inevitable while others believe preservation is part of what makes this Humboldt great. As a community, we can re-discover our values and reinforce them by sharing our stories. We can work together to make a difference.
I'm honored to host the show, and I know it will be good for everyone involved as well as maybe even those who watch it. The opportunity really feels perfect for me. I am the kid from Los Angeles who moved to Humboldt and found myself growing up in a weed fueled blaze of glory. Thinking back on times like when I earned the rap name Dope Logic at a trim scene, I see now that cannabis has always been a part of who I am.
I can't thank all of the people who have supported me over the years enough, from listening to me ramble to sharing their thoughts and feedback about my music or ideas. I realize that the best way to show my thanks is to do a great job, and live up to who I truly am. This opportunity has made me realize what I've always been capable of, which has me so excited to continue connecting with people and discovering each others talents.
Speaking of talent, The first thing I did when I heard I would be putting together a television program was seek out a great local camera guy. I've always loved Jon Burton-Reesman's photography, and I'm thrilled to say he's open to working together. Jon is the right person for the job in my mind because he's creative, and he has a lot of experience capturing the natural landscapes of the Pacific North West.
Jon Burton-Reesman will bring the Pacific North West into viewers living rooms. I'm inviting them to both see and feel the beauty of Northern California. The overall intent is to serve our community by creating a place for all of us to share our experiences. Creating this space should help us figure out what we want as a small and diverse community. I've got a great pilot episode planned out, and each episode will be themed to directly relate to the main storyline.
The producers over at Tribe TV have been amazing to work with, they've been nothing but supportive and they're lighting a fire up inside of me. They're giving me an opportunity to elevate the type of advertising I can help people access, and giving me a chance to bring my platform to the world. I've always wanted to share all I've learned living here in Humboldt County, so I'm thanking them and God for the chance to fulfill my purpose.
Indepth Perspectives need sponsors to get started, who want to donate or purchase commercial space on our show. Indepth Perspectives will be seen in 196 different countries through Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Play, iTunes, and Apple TV. If you or anyone you know has a vested interest in Humboldt County, a business that needs advertising, or just want to get involved with this amazing television program; do not hesitate to reach out!
